FREAKS!
I grew up fascinated with carnival freaks, buying tickets every year and
hurrying inside to see the sideshows at the Arizona State Fair and also
the Illinois State Fair before they became Politically Correct and stopped
showcasing freaks. There were Ronnie & Donnie, the Siamese Twins and "Popeye
(link to the eyes page). I couldn't get enough of Popeye's ability to
make his eyes pop out of their sockets and he would floor us by wiggling
them. I remember wincing when I saw him putting eye drops in his eyes
before he went on stage, his eyes bloodshot and watering from the constant
shows he put on. Long live Popeye and Ronnie & Donnie..
